Ashley Isham back in SIngapore

The London based Singaporean designer, Ashley Isham is finally opening up his first boutique right here in his home ground. What could be a better place for a sleek and elegant label than The Fullerton. The new boutique will have its own entrance as it soaks up the ambience and the architectural elegance of Singapore's top hotel.

The boutique is scheduled to be opened this month and it will carry an extra exclusive range of 50 dresses in 10 designs in this standalone boutique plus the ready-to-wear spring/summer 08 collection. So, here is another reason to visit The Fullerton Hotel.

Most Common

Lately, I have been coming across this pair of liberal striped web leather loafers from Pedro almost everywhere I turn. Even though, they come in two different colors, I only see the white one around. Unfortunately, I have to admit that I have a pair of them. I bought them a loong time ago when it just came out. Back then, noone was wearing it. But now, its everywhere! Even a colleague of mine owns a pair. Then again, what is there not to like about this pair of loafers. They are simple, clean, chic and smart which can carry you from a smart casual look with like long pants and those resort breezy shirts to just a pair of shorts and a tshirt. Very versatile and extremely wearable, and not to mention, comfortable! Yes, with it going for like a mere S$70, its definitely a good buy though I'll keep it to wearing them to the supermarket now!

And since gladiator sandals are all the rage this summer, I thought I will highlight one which I love from Pedro. This Croco Cross Strap Gladiator sandals are simply majestic. Its simple, its clean, its manly and its all the craze now. Again, very versatile, shorts to pants. Perfect for summer and that very relaxed feel. Also, its from Pedro, so, you don't have to worry about bursting your budget!

Old world charm

Excuse my absence for a couple of weeks. I have been rather busy exploring the tiny island I have been living on my entire life. Nonetheless, I came back with a couple of nice discoveries. One of the places I visited on my lil' tour around the island is the National Museum of Singapore where they have many galleries called, "Living Galleries" and one of them is Fashion. SO, obviously, that is where I headed to. Its the first gallery I ran to upon reaching the museum. Very nice things, all the retro Ray Bans and quotes by legendaries like Yves Saint Laurent all over the gallery. But one thing that really caught my attention is this vintage 1950s wedding dress made of silk, french lace and mother of pearls. It is really haute couture. Everything crafted by hand! Fabulous! Absolutely Fabulous. Take a look at it yourself! Fabulous cfartsmanship and exqusite details.

And the bow at the back is so cute! Bows have always been a mainstay in fashion trends now. All the bow shirts and all. Sweet, chic, sophisticated and elegant IF you wear it appropriately!
