Pedro is married!

Well, not exactly. But Pedro now has a collection just for ladies! Yes, even though its debut collection is quite limited, they did try their best to provide heels, wedges, platforms and flats. But I must say, the collection are stunning. They look expensive but are pretty affordable.





Well, then again, I can't wear no heels nor wedges! So, I ended up buying this pair of shoes! They are freakishly adorable! The only problem I have is that, I can't find a matching belt nor bag to go with the grey shoes! I manage to find one from Zara and apparently it was a sale item and the last one! I did not get it cause it has a little defect on it! Sighs, I am still on a hunt for my grey bag and belt to match my shoes! I love pointed shoes and so does this friend of mine. He bought all three colours of that design! Well, he just can't wear the grey one when he is out with me! I so love my shoes! I shall be hunting for more shoes soon!

Metallic 09

The local designer Hayden Ng who is famous for is scarf dresses is back with more scarf dresses this new year. However, this time around, they come in a more metallic finish. His latest dresses features pleats and prints of a slightly more chinese influence, which makes it a perfect buy for the upcoming Chinese New Year! And for those of you who loves wearing the scarf dresses but don't really wish to show off too much skin, he has shrugs available for you in three different colors. Fascinating! And even if you are not one of those dress ladies, you can always look at his chinese inspired tops! They are gorgeous! Superwoman

I am sure many of you who lived through the 90's would know very well of Singapore's first supermodel, (actually, she was also Asian's first supermodel!) Nora Ariffin. The highlight of her modeling career was definitely fronting an ad campaign for Allure by Chanel in 1997. Of course, that is before she appears in ads for L'oreal Paris and CoverGirl.

Well, her modeling days might be almost up while she recides in Manhattan. But, fear not, at the age of 41, she is making yet another name for herself as being one of the leading real estate brokers in New York. During her first year in the business in 2004, she was named Rookie of the Year and her career just went all the way up. When she ain't selling real estates to the many VIPs, A-listers and the who's who in New York, she is busy modeling jewelry for Tiffany & Co. Yup, she still has got the looks!

Despite the marriage failure and her recent miscarriage of her first child, she pushed on and is still as hot as ever. A superwoman indeed! Kudos to her and we wish her better health and all the best in her life and all her future endeavours! Cheers!

I was doing my usual stocking up of magazines when I saw this months edition of i-D Magazine! The latest edition of i-D Magazine features Eniko Mihalik, the sexy model who is a muse to photographers Inez van Lemsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin! Isn't she simply gorgeous? And love the eye make up, she looks like a glammed up pirate! Haha!

Karl Lagerfeld, King of Controversy!

Well, well, Mr Lagerfeld, you sure know how to steal the limelight as reported in The New Paper. Apparently, the animal rights group People for the Ethical treatment of Animals (PETA) called Lagerfeld a 'dinosaur' after he defended the fur industry by saying that "beasts" would kill humans if we didn't kill them. He also added, "In a meat-eating world, wearing leather for shoes and clothes and even handbags, the discussion of fur is childish."

That does make sense on the surface but then again, its the treatment of the animals that they are talking about. Personally, I find fur extremely gorgeous! I would love to own one but of course, I don't. So, do not come and raid me! All you animal rights activists, let me make this clear, I love fur but I do not own one because I condemn the way these 'harvesters' torture the animals. Maybe you guys should figure out a way to get those beautiful fur without torturing the animals. Then, it'll be a win-win situation, aye?

But then again, I kinda expected such words coming out from Lagerfeld especially after the whole size-zero issue. For those of you who ain't aware, he drew criticisms when he supported the use of size-zero models to show the designs. In his defence, he said, "In France there are, I think, less than one percent of people who are too skinny. There are nearly thirty percent of young people who are too fat. So let's take care of the zillions of the too fat before we talk about the percentage that's left."

I must confess! I actually nod in agreement when he first said that! Well, if it makes the too fat just right, its fine, right? I think obesity is a much bigger problem than being skinny. However, the whole eating disorder thing that arises from wanting to be skinny can be quite scary too. Well, what I actually believe in his health. If you are healthy, you won't be a size-zero nor will you send the scales to the dumps. You will be just right fof your frame. Come on, people! Being too skinny and too fat is freakishly ugly! Too much of anything - make-up, diet, food, botox, exercise, is freakishly ugly! Life is about balance! So for this new year, I wish everyone will be able to find their balance. Peace!

Nothing like Portobello!

I have always wondered where do all these designers get their inspirations from. One of my favourite designers, Paul Smith, who just recently opened his second boutique in Mayfair, London, has this to say,

"I'm off to Portobello today to get ideas. (I'm driving there in my black Mini Cooper, eating a scone and dictating this blog at the same time). I love going to the market at the beginning of the year to get inspired - though I'm hoping I'm not too early to see all my old friends there, maybe it's too cold for them.

It's not unusual to see all sorts of designers from the international fashion houses there picking up tips for their new collections and you can often see a strong London theme in their shows as a result. I just like to wander around and either pick up interesting, unusual things for the shop windows - a kitsch statue, say - or ideas for my designs: you might see an interesting pocket detail on a jacket, maybe, or an unusual stitch or a great button. I can't give away all my secrets about which are the best stalls but I'll give you a clue and say try under the bridge and over to the left...

I'm off to Paris next week to talk to the editors of the French newspaper, Liberation, about guest-editing a copy of the paper on the day of Barack Obama's inauguration. Very exciting."
