C Lacroix for project runway?

While I was reviewing the fashions of haute couture week held in Paris, despite my busy schedule, I came across Christian Lacroix. I reckon by now, everyone would know that Christian Lacroix is famous for coming out with such flamboyant collection. This collection is no exception. However, what striked me was the (nope, not that bronze dress that looks kinda cheap) but the bow hair! It reminds me so much of a project runway cration by Allison. Remember the bow hair like Minnie Mouse?

Do you see the resemblance now? I though it was just a thing on the runways until I come across the next picture while looking for the infamous bow hair made public by Allison.

Lord, please save us! Well, at least Paris Hilton's bow hair ain't that obvious from the front! Thankfully, she did not wear it high!

Of course, the hair done in the Christian Lacroix show is done in braids which at least makes it look half as bad. Although I must say, the colors weaved into the brains are pretty .... well, unique!

In all Haute Couture shows, there will always be a highlight, in Christian Lacroix's case, its the wedding dress. I wonder who will be wearing it for their wedding soon.

So, what has been your favourite for this collection?

Haute Couture Week

Paris has just ended its week of Haute Couture shows featuring tonnes of fashion heavyweights like Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Roger Vivier (and his unveiling of his $30,000 pair of shoes) and Valentino just to name a few. I think one of the shows that really caught fashionista's attention is Chanel's definition of 'recession luxury'. (I told you everyone is becoming a budget tai-tai!)

In the collection there was not a single pearl nor a glimmer of glittering jewelry seen in the mainly white collection. Everything was so white it kinda reminded me of my pet rabbit, Pure. Yup, pure as snow!

He did not just stop there, Karl Lagerfeld also made the models wear head pieces made of paper, stylishly crafted origami-style by the Tokyo milliner, Kamo. Oh, let's not forget the white nails the models had!

Now, isn't that just fitting during these times?

Preppy Spring

Spring and summer this year marks the return of being preppy as seen in many many collections. Here are a couple of looks that I personally like, as seen in Details, of course.

Shirt by Lacoste, Jeans by Acne. Hat by Rag& Bone. Necklace by Philip Crangi.

Sweater by Banana Republic, T-shirt by Marc - Marc Jacobs (I love Marc Jacobs!), jeans by Rag&Bone, shoes by Opening Ceremony.

Uniqlo, way to go.

I was looking at Uniqlo's latest collection and I found these two items that I like. I love the pink broad checkered shirt. It just seems so refreshing. Of course, its paired with cropped jeans, which is very much Uniqlo and many Japanese designers' style. And oh, do you notice the shoes? They are awesome!

As the weather here seems to get slightly hotter than the twenty four degrees celcius for the couple of weeks, we can expect more guys turning into their shorts and Uniqlo has few simple and nice ones. If only we can wear shorts to work, aye? Won't that be great? If you wanna be preppy and young, take your cue from Uniqlo's collection,

Hoof Shoes

I was dropping by the Fashion Police website and hold and behold, there was this picture of hoof heels! Have you ever dreamt of being some mystical creature like those in Narnia? If you do, I reckon this shoe is for you. Hmm, perhaps, those were the shoes they used in the movie. What do you reckon?

Extra Cash to spare?

If in these times of financial crisis you kinda have some spare USD30,000 lying around that you so desperately need to get rid of, why don't you spend it on this pair of exquisite Roger Vivier silk satin shoes topped with its own bird like thing. Of course, the semi precious stones on the birds head probably kinda justify the thirty thousand dollars price tag. Goodness, its more expensive than the twenty thousand dollar diamond necklace that my friend, Sammy, wore for the OSIM Uzap Superstar competition. Diamond necklace and pair of shoes, which should have a heftier price tag?

The latest cycle of America's Next Top Model, produced and hosted by supermodel Tyra Banks will begin airing its cycle 12 on February 25th in the States. Unfortunately, for us, we pretty much have to wait slightly longer!
